About this property

Welcome to Spruce Hill Resort & Spa

Spruce Hill Resort & Spa is set on a vast 20,000-acre ranch in rural British Columbia, offering a peaceful retreat away from busy town centers. Guests can choose from low-key rooms and chalets that provide a comfortable, if modest, base for exploring the natural surroundings and nearby attractions such as the 108 Mile Heritage Site museum, located just 3 km from the property.

A range of amenities supports a relaxed and active stay, including free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool, hot tub, spa, fitness center, and an on-site restaurant. Some accommodations feature kitchens, adding extra convenience for longer stays. The property is both pet-friendly and kid-friendly, which suits families and visitors bringing pets. However, there is no airport shuttle available, and some parts of the property appear to have a lived-in, residential feel.

Guest reviews highlight the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms along with the welcoming nature of the owner. While many find the setting quiet and safe with pleasant facilities such as the gym and pool, some mention dated features, occasional maintenance issues, and a somewhat cluttered outdoor environment. Long-term residents on site have been noted, which can affect the resort atmosphere for some visitors.

Spruce Hill Resort & Spa is well-suited for travelers seeking a natural, low-key escape with a variety of recreational options. It is particularly convenient for those transiting through the region or attending local events, with Williams Lake Regional Airport approximately an hour away by car. Visitors looking for a polished, upscale resort experience may find this property less fitting, but it remains a practical choice for those prioritizing location and access to nearby outdoor activities.

Wasn't sure what to expect based on other reviews. They were all true. Rooms were fine, comfortable and clean. At one time the facility was probably really impressive. Now there is junk everywhere and many units are occupied by full time residents. NO resort amenities, website is outdated.

We needed a stopover on the way from Vancouver to northern BC for just one night. Pros: very clean, nice and quiet, felt safe as it’s tucked away from the town and the main highway, bed was comfy, shower was great. Owner was very friendly. Cons: we did not find a thermostat in the room and it got very warm. The breakfast that was included was an offer of a piece of toast or a muffin. Since I have a gluten allergy we turned that down. Also, we were told the pool and hot tub were open yet it had a sign on the door stating that there was a city ordinance saying it couldn’t be used. It felt odd being told we could go ahead and use it anyways. We declined.

The owner was so friendly and very accommodating, the rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds. I would’ve given it five stars but there was no remote for the TV or any streaming platforms and there was old mattresses, garbage and dead vehicles on the property and somewhat shady long-term guests staying in one of the buildings, thankfully not the one the guests stay in. By shady I mean loud vulgar conversations on the patio so nothing major and it was quiet at night, so I was able to get a good nights sleep.

Beautiful place. Arrived in the dark, Host was amazing. He set us up and sent us into town for dinner... He accommodated us using the pool a little after hours as well. Would recommend the ambiance is a cut above.. Enjoyed the stay.

The room was very nice. It was clean and well taken care of. The owner made sure we had everything we needed. We'll stay again if we are in the area

There is a lot to say, it is out in a more isolated area. The family runs it themselves. We visited out of summer and winter season, so that also effects the environment. The beds are amazing and comfy, and very clean. The gym is amazing. The pool is running, I did not visit it. The dog Wanda confirms safety from the natural environment, and she is lovely, please pet her for me. There is a shooting range, though I don't know about those areas. I would recommend if your goal is to visit the area, or stay in the common areas for meetings. There are a few people that rent long term, and the walls are thin, have earplugs/headphones.

I stayed here on a business trip and was impressed by the amenities and location. Would be an ideal location for a wedding or family reunion. Massive full size gym and yoga studio, large indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are comfortable and modest but the sunrise from my rooms balcony was 10/10! The owner is very hospitable and made sure that I left with a coffee and muffin. I would stay here again.

Great place, maintenance could better tub drain slow drain so it fills up with water while showering. The tolet wouldn't flush the first time had to lift the top up and use my hand probably because the room hadn't been rented for so long. But nice place. Manager is good and diligent.
